ABOUT JEFF GONZALEZ

Jeff Gonzalez is a combat veteran, pastor, community leader, and father. He serves in the State Assembly to fix California’s growing challenges and ensure every family has the opportunity to succeed, afford to live here, and enjoy a better quality of life.

A first-generation American, Jeff felt called to serve his country from a young age. After graduating high school, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, where he served in combat zones in Iraq and Afghanistan. He also completed multiple missions protecting U.S. embassies in Honduras and the Czech Republic.

After more than two decades of honorable service, Jeff retired from the Marine Corps and answered a new calling to serve his community as a pastor. Following the tragic loss of ten fellow Marines to suicide, Jeff committed himself to supporting and protecting those who are struggling and most vulnerable.

Jeff’s decision to run for office was deeply personal. As the father of his son, RJ, who lives with cerebral palsy with spastic quadriplegia and a seizure disorder, Jeff saw firsthand how broken California’s healthcare system can be. Navigating care, fighting through red tape, and advocating for his son gave Jeff a clear understanding of the challenges families face and the urgent need for leadership that puts people first. He ran for office to be a voice not just for his son, but for every family struggling to access the care they deserve.

Through his professional and personal experiences, Jeff has developed a deep understanding of the challenges facing California families and businesses. He understands the burdens placed on job creators and has seen firsthand how policy decisions impact everyday life. He knows what California is capable of and has the determination to help fix what’s broken.

Jeff’s mission in Sacramento is clear: increase access to healthcare, lower the cost of living, support public safety, and restore opportunity across California.

He is married to his wife, Christine, have four children: RJ, Lexi, Zack and Michael and together they reside in the City of Indio with their fur babies Milo and Izzy.
